Why we enjoy our work

In a nutshell: we are just terribly curious. What we translate is often the result of the latest engineering or economic developments. And being at the forefront of things is absolutely fascinating.

Every text poses a new challenge. After all these years, we still enjoy puzzling over the sometimes very complex technical terms and phrases to uncover what the author wants to say and then find out how this matter can be presented as clearly and comprehensibly as possible in the target language. We also see it as a big advantage that we can work in our own home. We do not lose time for driving to the office and can access our computers at any time when we have a "stroke of genius" and find just the wording we were looking for.

The view into our beautiful garden or over the open fields with the clouds on the horizon permits a short pause for reflection. And if either of us needs encouragement, advice or assistance, we enjoy a cup of espresso or go and cut the roses to return with renewed energy to our desk where a cat is sleeping in the in-tray or blocking the ESC key .... again.
